Sullins Connector Solutions was founded in 1971 and is today the leading producer and designer of high-reliability connectors for a broad range of applications across the entire spectrum of high-tech industries. 

They are headquartered in San Marcos, CA, USA, and are a privately held company. They currently provide the most comprehensive and diverse selection of UL/CUL, RoHS standard approved headers, and edge cards in the field of connector manufacturing.  

With decades of expertise, they have the capability to custom design high-temperature and high-density connectors for the most challenging environments, including zero-gravity applications. As a result, they are used by the most demanding engineer and manufacturing clients in the world.

Sullins prides itself on customer reliability and is committed to consistently providing its standard connectors in addition to its highly specialized custom design capabilities. All of their materials are RoHS compliant and are manufactured to guarantee the highest levels of quality and reliability. All orders are fulfilled in-house using their proprietary streamlined manufacturing processes.

Despite their size and ability to provide material for the largest enterprise-level clients, they will accept orders as small as ten connectors. 

 

A Brief History of Sullins Connector Solutions

 

Sullins was founded under the name Sullins Electronics in 1971. Ten years later, in 1981, their manufacturing plant merged with the headquarter of Sullins offices in San Marcos, CA.

In 1988 pin headers were successfully added to their growing product line. 

After decades of continued growth, Sullins acquired Micro Plastics, Inc in 2004, adding additional manufacturing capabilities to their already significant output. In the same year, they achieved full RoHS compliance for all relevant products.

To meet the increasing demand for their high-quality products and to take advantage of the growth in East Asian economies, they expanded operations with a new regional office in Taipei, Taiwan, in 2007.

In 2008 the name Sullins Connector Solutions was formerly adopted to reflect the company’s continuing evolution into the specialized field of high-tech connector design and manufacture. 

In 2013 Sullins was pleased to announce their achievement of full AS9100 Certification.

What is a Breakaway Header?

 

This highly specialized product is sometimes referred to as the ‘duct tape’ of electronic engineering. Breakaway headers are used by engineers to connect diverse components together to create new solutions. They can be soldered or snapped into place and are the glue without which many technical solutions could not take place. They can be easily broken apart with cutters or pliers and can be gold plated to prevent oxidation. 

 

What is a High-Temperature Jumper?

 

A jumper allows a device to close an electrical circuit, allowing electricity to flow. Sullins’s design allows for these components to operate in extreme temperatures, and this includes their full range of 0.100″ pitch contact male headers, capable of continuous function within operating temperatures up to 150°C, 200°C, and 250°C. 

 

This allows Sullins products to continue to offer world-class reliability under thermally challenging conditions both industrial and commercial, including in a wide variety of end-user, consumer products from vehicle engines to medical instrumentation, power supplies, power converters, and other applications that require durability under extreme conditions.
